Binder Hell

Guess what I've been doing for the past month. Putting together binders for submission to state and national agencies. Fun Fun Fun! This is a total of 42 out of the 49 binders. I took this photo on Friday and I really should have taken one today. The room is out of control.

The actual report part of these binders is still going through client approval, but once that happens, production starts up again. These all have to be shipped for delivery this Friday.

If I never see another binder again I'll be happy.

Knitting content

I know! You’d think there’d be something else I’d want to complain blog about. Well there is this:

This is Liesl by Ysolda Teague. After quite a few false starts, I finally was able to get through the increase section. Then, when I got to the rows with no increases, I had issues counting to 8. Well 4 actually because it is 4 of one thing, then 4 of another. I can’t tell you how many times I had to reverse knit. I still need to weave in the ends and block it to within an inch of it's life, but so far I'm really happy with it.

I’m using Rowan Calmer, which is the second time I’ve used it. I made Soliel with it and it was wonderful to knit with. The only problem with Soliel was that I didn’t listen to my inner body image monitor and make it a little longer than called for. So I’ve only worn it once, and I’m waiting for inspiration to strike to figure out how to lengthen it since it has a lace pattern at the bottom.

I actually see another Liesl in my future. I shrunk a white cotton lace cardi I had for years so I need to replace it. For some reason Cotton Ease is calling my name. Especially since I’ll be making it in white and washing is a necessity. I tend mess up white very easily. Well, every other light color too.

I can't wait to wear it. I'm hoping the weather will be nice this weekend so I can block and leave the windows opened so it will dry well.

NJSASK

Can you imagine not having a good time with Bezzie? I know I always have fun when in her company.

NJSASK started at this Tea Shop:

Greetings from NJSASK!

We’ve been here a couple of times and they have the most overwhelming menu ever. But so fun to read.

And the shop is literally 2 doors down from Sticks n Stitches. Our NJSASK outing ended there, naturally.

All in all a perfect inaugural NJSASK!

May already?

This weekend is a big one for us Fiber Artists and Crafters (pick your term). It’s the weekend of the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. I’ve attended the last 2 years and had a wonderful time meeting up with my peeps who I usually only chat with on the internets. It’s wonderful to get to see them. This year, I delayed the decision to last week. I hemmed and hawed and finally decided that there was no way my knee was going to hold up.

The cards were stacked against us from the beginning. IFT’s hubby is working longer hours because some of the staff at his work were laid off. So he works pretty much 6 days a week. IFT wasn’t able to commit because of his schedule and she wouldn’t have anyone to watch her boys for the day. Jen was on a business trip and wouldn’t be arriving till late Friday night, necessitating an all nighter. Bezzie would have had to bring both her boys, which she was willing to do. But 6 hours or more in a car with 4 ½ month old Moochie, who would be very cranky after a day being lugged around the fairgrounds had her hemming and hawing about going.

Then we discovered that we were both so wishy washy because of each other. Bezzie was going to go if I was going and I was going to go if she was going. It seemed it just wasn’t worth the knee pain and a potentially very cranky baby.

So this is why I'm not going. It isn’t, ya know, gross or anything, but it is VERY swollen and sad looking. I took this photo in the morning. I know. Awful!

I actually took this photo to send to my mom, but I know she would have cried when she saw it. I never want to make my mom cry.

I hope I didn’t make you squirm or anything.
