Only in my Neighborhood...

Not the bank robbery; or the FBI Agent who was killed (horrible on the former and horrifficly sad on the latter).

-But-

The fact that the suspect who got away walked the mile or so down a highway with an assult rifle and only wearing one shoe, decided he was hungry and went into Quick Check to order a sandwich. Apparently bank robbery is hungry work! Did no one in the store notice the missing shoe or maybe THE GUN?!?!

Poor Katie. She hates loud noises and the police cars and copters probably have her hiding under the bed.

ETA: They've started leaving the part about Quick Check off the news reports. But they did have it in there! I swear!

My friend's class was canceled at RVCC tonight, and roads are apparently *still* closed in the area. Between this and the bomb threat at the mall yesterday, local cops have been busy of late. :(

This is NOT normal for this area, folks. We're a quiet, upscale, suburban community!

Honestly!!! I live like 2 miles from the mall too! What the heck is going on in our little 'hood?

Creepy isn't it? This happened to me in MI. A pair of bank robbers escaped into the neighborhood where me and a friend did our lunchtime laps. We saw tons of cops driving around and sniffer dogs down one cul-de-sac. Do you think the cops stopped us to tell us to get the hell outta the neighborhood? Nope! We had to ask some body who had come out onto their porch to see what the commotion was about (the cops were nice enough to go door to door and tell them to batton down the hatches!)

Crazy world we live in!
